Immediate shoutout to Suzie at the restaurant! The staff are all amazing and reception was wonderful but WOW … did not expect for Suzie to make us feel like we were home and the only ones that were there. If you want the literal best stay ever in or near Vernon Hills, do it here (as long as Suzie is working here). Thank you for the most lovely time!

The Forester was incredibly helpful with our wedding weekend logistics. They passed out welcome bags and customized key cards, and ensured all rooms were ready and comfortable. When we needed additional items for the getting ready suite they brought them up promptly and helped place them. Lake Forest had a water quality issue that weekend and they were able to provide everyone with water bottles as soon as the alert came out. They were extremely helpful with the room block and left a nice note with champagne for myself and my husband as a special touch for the day. The after-party at the bar was a hit — lively, well-staffed, and the perfect way to end the night.
Fantastic hotel. Great attention to detail and the feel and function of the hotel is on point. The only thing is that they do not provide breakfast in the mornings (although they have it at a premium in their restaurant)
Stayed here a few times and it's great! Very clean hotel with a nice bar. Each time the staff have been great. We are heading there this weekend for hockey games.
We recently used The Forester Hotel for our wedding room blocks, and everything was wonderful. We worked with Liz, who went above and beyond from start to finish. She gave us a personal tour of the hotel, treated us to brunch at the restaurant, and was incredibly flexible and accommodating with all of the room block details. When my wife arrived, Liz greeted her personally and even helped her unload, check in, and get our things to our room. The hotel staff also took care of distributing our guest gift baskets, which made everything so easy for us. When we got to our suite, we were surprised with champagne, a lovely card, and thoughtful gifts for our two children. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotless. Our suite was spacious, with a great kitchen, and we appreciated that they made sure we had connecting rooms. The fall décor around the property was lovely, and we enjoyed several meals at the hotel restaurant—everything we ordered was delicious. We highly recommend The Forester Hotel for anyone planning a wedding or staying in the area. A huge thank-you to Liz and the entire team for making our experience so special.

Ok so it’s fact people always review when it’s negative but it has to be beyond positive to do a good review. So I’m compelled. This is an outstanding hotel. And the reason behind that is 100% down to the staff. Standout for me was suzie! What an asset! This woman knows hospitality and has nailed her career in it. From my first night to my fourth this woman made me feel so welcome. I kinda wanna be her friend. Edgar did my room service and chatted to me: what a wonderful respectful young man! This hotel understands home from home and their hospitality makes you fell beyond welcome. This is my new go to hotel because of these people. Book - you will not be disappointed
